U.S. Inner Cities Relate to African Nations

"A UK non profit social enterprise known as Inveneo Inc, whose vision is to connect villages around the world, has launched a low cost solar/battery powered computer onto the Ugandan market. Congratulations to the management of Inveneo Inc and the people of Uganda. It is my hope that the activities of Inveneo will spread to other African countries:)"

The fact that this is not going to happen will come as no surprise to those familiar with African politics. Therefore, I will only illuminate one reason why this will not happen.

100% of all of the wealth, resources, and land in the continent of Africa continues to be controlled by Europeans who do not have the people's interests at heart. Most villages in most countries in Africa are far too poor to afford a $1000 computer. They're trying to rummage up $1 dollar for food instead.

Speaking of which, why is there no major grocer implementing the same strategy alleged in this article? I am a community coordinator in Oakland, Ca U.S.A. I can't even get decent TEXT BOOKS in my U.S. city's Public schools! Do not believe for a moment that big business, government, or "non profit" social enterprises are genuinely attempting to assist with the computer literacy in African nations. That's just stupid.

BTW,That was not an opinion; that is an unmitigated fact.

Kingpin: Felix Mitchell

Violence is often accompanied by the distribution of drugs. To decrease the incidence of violence, the staff of No Coloreds in Oakland seriously evaluates the impact illegal and legal drugs have upon inner city homicides. However, we understand that resolving this issue alone will not stop the violence. No Coloreds in Oakland advises the community to develop and implement legal strategies to curb the proliferation of drugs.

Hint
Most illegal drugs enter California, USA via the Port of Oakland. Oakland, Richmond, and Sacramento citizens and lawyers of color should hold the Alameda County and Richmond Crime Labs along with the FBI and other law enforcement agencies accountable for the protection of this port.

Felix Mitchell was one of the first black men to capitalize on the illegal drug market. Though many youth looked up to Felix, it is important to note that (Unlike the slanted NBC report above) people supported Felix Mitchell because of his "concern" for his community. This perception, however, proved to be a dangerous one.

We now hold drug traffickers in esteem. We praise the men that sale poison to our families. Our children idolize "street pharmacists." Therefore, it is not enough to curb drug trafficking. We must also alter our desire to praise immorality.

The story of Felix Mitchell goes to teach that if we do not take a genuine interest in our children (not just blood relatives) a persuasive drug dealer may. Thug life is not as forgiving as family; nor a gun as altruistic as a switch.

Who Needs to Improve for Oakland Violence to Cease?

So you want to help solve the crime problem but you think it's too big. You think there are too many contributing factors. You don't know where to start. No Coloreds in Oaklandwill assist in putting a thumb on solutions. You may also click here to get lend a hand. Who knows; maybe the problem is not as difficult as you think.

Where does No Coloreds in Oakland say violence solutions must come from?
Community development by way of non profit organizations, educational facility improvements by way of legal accountability (no computers in Oak pub schools, we'll sue ya etc.), decrease recidivism by implementing/funding worthy programs such as Men of Valor (less than $2 million/yr. needs to be allocated), promote business ownership versus employment, curb squatting and improve housing for worthy tenants by legally forcing slumlords to improve housing conditions BY THE BLOCK LOAD, and bang your monkey, the local government. They are also known as the Oakland City Council (click the pic to see who's who). The OCC can be reached at (510) 232-3266. Complain until they block your phone number; then get your neighbor to complain. Go to the meetings too 510-238-7370.

These suggestions must be implemented simultaneously for them to have a noteworthy and sustained effect.

Synopsys

No Coloreds in Oakland is extensible cinema in that the approach can be used in other cities which suffer from an inflated homicide rate. The film is a strategic tool to abolish crimes against one’s self; e.g. black on black crime. It is also original cinema. Never before has such wholly extensive research intersected with first and third person perspectives on the issue of inner-city violence.

No Coloreds in Oakland exposes solutions to the murder problem by sorting and identifying its source(s) of support then revealing its complex, high level origins. Violence prevention tools are being developed in conjunction with the film. Self help guides, community workshops, financial strategies, and curriculum proposals will serve as tools that will enable Oakland citizens to prevent or respond to violence in an effective manner.
