Kingpin: Felix Mitchell

Violence is often accompanied by the distribution of drugs. To decrease the incidence of violence, the staff of No Coloreds in Oakland seriously evaluates the impact illegal and legal drugs have upon inner city homicides. However, we understand that resolving this issue alone will not stop the violence. No Coloreds in Oakland advises the community to develop and implement legal strategies to curb the proliferation of drugs.

Hint
Most illegal drugs enter California, USA via the Port of Oakland. Oakland, Richmond, and Sacramento citizens and lawyers of color should hold the Alameda County and Richmond Crime Labs along with the FBI and other law enforcement agencies accountable for the protection of this port.

Felix Mitchell was one of the first black men to capitalize on the illegal drug market. Though many youth looked up to Felix, it is important to note that (Unlike the slanted NBC report above) people supported Felix Mitchell because of his "concern" for his community. This perception, however, proved to be a dangerous one.

We now hold drug traffickers in esteem. We praise the men that sale poison to our families. Our children idolize "street pharmacists." Therefore, it is not enough to curb drug trafficking. We must also alter our desire to praise immorality.

The story of Felix Mitchell goes to teach that if we do not take a genuine interest in our children (not just blood relatives) a persuasive drug dealer may. Thug life is not as forgiving as family; nor a gun as altruistic as a switch.
